Just finished updating my first-aid kit. It's got the usual stuff - bandages, antiseptics, painkillers. What unusual items have you guys included in yours? Looking for fresh ideas.
A must-have I recommend, that might seem a bit unconventional, is a book on basic medical procedures. You never know when you might be without internet and need to refresh your memory on some first-aid essentials. Plus, it's lightweight and doesn't take up much space. Has anyone else thought to include something like this?
Agree with you, CeruleanScribe, lightweight items are crucial in a first-aid kit, especially when you're on the move. Reminds me of the historical survival tactic of Native Americans who always carried portable medicinal plants. Inspired by this, I include a small zip-lock bag of plantain leaves in my kit. They're great for insect bites, cuts, and burns. Dry and crush them beforehand and they take virtually no space. Plus, you can often find them in the wild to replenish your supply. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's served me well over the years. Ever tried anything like this?
