Gal Gadot Shares Her Disappointment Over 'Snow White' Not Doing Well at the Box Office

Renowned actress Gal Gadot has openly expressed her disappointment over the poor performance of her recent movie, a live-action version of 'Snow White'. She believes that the mounting pressure on celebrities to take a stand against Israel was a significant factor that negatively impacted the film's success.

Actress Enjoyed Filming Despite Box Office Outcome

During a recent TV interview, Gadot was asked about her feelings towards the less than stellar performance of the film, where she starred alongside Rachel Zegler. In response, Gadot expressed that she had a great time shooting the film. She said, "I really enjoyed filming this movie."

When asked about her experience working with Zegler, Gadot had nothing but positive things to say. "I even enjoyed working with Rachel Zegler. We laughed, we talked and it was fun. I was sure that this movie was going to be a huge success."

Prior Military Service and Political Pressures

Gadot spent two years in the Israeli Defense Forces as a part of her obligatory service. She was even part of the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict. This involvement led to her film 'Wonder Woman' being banned in Lebanon upon its release in 2017.

On the other hand, Zegler has been quite vocal about her support for Palestine and Gaza. This reportedly didn't sit well with the 'Snow White' producer during the film's promotion.

The Impact of External Pressures on the Film Industry

Gadot observed that external pressures, particularly the growing expectation for celebrities to condemn Israel, have been impacting various industries, including Hollywood. "There's a lot of pressure on celebrities to speak out against Israel." Gadot shared. She added that while she can strive to provide context about the situation in Israel, people ultimately form their own opinions. She felt disappointed that these circumstances greatly affected her movie's performance.

Humanitarian Concerns and Protests

Humanitarian organizations and experts, such as the UN Special Committee, Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, and international law scholars, have raised concerns about the alleged genocide committed by Israel against Palestinians. An analysis in 2025 predicted severe levels of food insecurity in Gaza by September of the same year, indicating that over half a million people could face acute malnutrition and mortality.

Gadot herself has been targeted by protestors. In May, five demonstrators were arrested for allegedly targeting the set of Gadot’s upcoming film 'The Runner' in central London. Prior to this, her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony was delayed by protestors from both pro-Palestine and pro-Israel groups.

The politicization of movies seems to be hitting box office results harder than ever. Makes me wonder if any film can avoid backlash these days?
