That tomato joke cracked me up—my cucumbers blushed last season when the corn started gossiping, so maybe veggies really do have a sense of humor! You’d think after decades of gardening I’d get used to their antics, but every year there’s a new surprise. Anyone else ever catch a zucchini trying to sneak its way into every meal? If only my survival skills worked as well on runaway squash as they do in the wild!

If I ever find out how my zucchinis multiply so fast, I’ll bottle and sell the secret—could retire twice! Last summer I turned my back for a day and came back to enough squash to build a new root cellar. Maybe they’re plotting with the tomatoes behind my back. Someone needs to invent squash-camouflage, so they stop sneaking up on us!

Speaking of mischievous produce, here’s a prepping joke for the day: Why did the prepper refuse to play hide and seek with his beans? Because good luck hiding anything that makes that much noise after dinner!

It’s true, laughter is right up there with duct tape on my list of essentials. Anyone else stash a few silly jokes in their emergency kit for morale? Or maybe just a rubber chicken to lighten the mood when the power’s out
