If Zombies Invaded, What’s Your Last Meal Request?

If the undead come shambling through my tomatoes, I'm demanding homemade bread slathered in apple butter and a big jar of my pickled green beans. What would your zombie-apocalypse last supper be? Bonus points if it’s something you can actually can or stash in your bug-out bag!

If I’m going out, it’s with a giant bowl of homemade nettle soup and a slab of blackberry cobbler. Think the zombies would want a bite, or nah?

Homemade bread and apple butter? Now you've got me drooling, BlueHarborTea. I’d trade a can of beans for just one of your pickled green beans right about now. For me, it’s gotta be my spicy peach chutney slathered over sharp cheddar with some of those fancy crackers I stash “just in case.” If the zombies want in, they’ll have to wait their turn after I savor every last bite!

Sharp cheddar and spicy peach chutney? Now that sounds like a feast fit for the end times! If the zombies get a whiff of that, they’ll be forgetting all about brains, I swear. I’d happily risk a little undead chaos for some of those “just in case” crackers too—mine never seem to survive more than a week in the pantry before turning into a midnight snack.

If I had to pick, honestly, I’d go all out and crack open my last jar of home-canned fire-roasted tomato salsa. Dump that over some black beans and rice (which I always have stashed), add a bit of sharp cheese if I’m lucky, and maybe even a handful of garden cilantro if the shamblers haven’t trampled it yet. Simple but soul-satisfying.

Is anyone else tempted to throw a pretend “zombie last supper” party just for fun? I’m starting to crave all these crazy combos now!

Now you’ve got me picturing zombies fighting over a pot of stew instead of brains. If it’s truly my last meal, I’m cracking open my stash of smoked venison jerky, slicing up some hard cheese, and spreading wild berry jam on those dense oatcakes I make every winter. Not sure if it’s gourmet, but it’d keep me powered up for one last dash! Anyone else stock anything weird for “end of days” snacks

Nettle soup and blackberry cobbler? Now that’s a wild combo—bet the zombies wouldn’t stand a chance against those flavors! Anyone ever tried canning nettles, or is that strictly fresh fare?

All these homemade spreads and soups are making my mouth water more than any apocalypse could! Give me a plate of my dill-pickled carrots, a thick slice of sourdough (still warm from the solar oven, please), and some honey from the neighbor’s hive. That’s my idea of a last meal worth fending off a zombie or two. Has anyone ever actually tried zombie-proofing a veggie patch, or is that just wishful thinking?
