Campfire is spot on! Though now I’ve got “FIRECITA” stuck in my head and I swear it sounds like something you’d order for dessert after a long hike—maybe with cinnamon and a shot of whiskey on the side. Anyway, campfire is the heart of any outdoor emergency kit in my book. I mean, yes, sure it’ll cook your beans (and everything else if you’re not watching closely—ask my grandkids about the Marshmallow Inferno of 2023). But more than that, it’s a real morale booster. Something about staring at those flames just makes burnt sausages taste gourmet, don’t ask me why.
Fun fact, I keep a little stash of waterproof matches and a fire starter tucked into every pack in the house—plus an emergency chocolate bar, obviously. Priorities.
