The newsletter strikes again with its brain teasers! I think I spent longer staring at those scrambled letters than I would actually starting a fire in the wild (not that I’d ever admit that to my preparedness group). As for how the answer ties into my own strategy—well, it’s the one thing I refuse to leave home without, second only to my reading glasses. There’s no shame in being prepared for both emergencies and tiny print, right?

Staring at that scramble had my brain doing more gymnastics than my old ham radio antenna in a windstorm. Pretty sure the answer is “firestarter”—and yeah, I’d never attempt a camping trip without at least three different ways to spark up a flame. You ever try lighting a campfire with wet matches in the rain? Makes even reading tiny print seem easy by comparison! Anyone else got a favorite “weird” firestarter trick?
