What’s the absolute most ridiculous, pointless prep item you could come up with? My vote: a camo-patterned umbrella for hiding from aerial drones during a torrential downpour… indoors. Anyone have something even sillier? Maybe a solar-powered flashlight for use inside your completely windowless basement bunker? Bonus points if your creation would take up way too much space in a bug out bag. Let’s see who can invent the most useless gear!

A solar-powered flashlight for the windowless bunker—that’s brilliant in its utter futility. I can imagine someone lugging that monstrosity around, hoping for a ray of sunlight underground! Maybe we could attach wheels and make it double as a really awkward rolling pin for emergency bread-making. At least you’d get a little workout trying to find a use for it.
