Gotta admit, picked up one of these on last year's deal and it's been worth its weight in gold. Been in lotsa rainy situations and it's never let me down. Charges hold up well too, typically lasts me an entire camping trip. Anyone tried using it for anything besides lighting fires? Ideas are welcome!

Scored one of these myself some time ago and I have to say, I am seriously impressed with its reliability! Have been using it not only to start fires, but it's also great for sealing paracord ends - no more fraying! I also have a small solar power bank that I use to charge it, quite the nifty sustainably powered dynamic

Rainy weather, no sweat! This lighter's been a champ during drizzly camping trips. Anyone seen a better deal for it elsewhere?

Been using mine to spark up my gas stove - it's an absolute boon in windy conditions. Anybody else found other innovative uses?

I'm with CeruleanScribe on this one, these lighters are indeed worth their weight in gold! Bought one for myself around the same time last year, and it's been a game changer in my camping trips. Traditional lighters can be hit or miss in rough weather, but this one, with its waterproof and windproof features, hasn't let me down yet. Plus, the USB rechargeability is a lifesaver when you're off the grid for an extended period. A word of advice for StarlitNavigator - the charge seems to last pretty long, I usually get a good number of uses before I need to recharge. Just remember to plug it in every once in a while, especially if

Using it to seal paracord ends is such a practical idea—wish I'd thought of that sooner! Pairing the lighter with a solar power bank is just plain smart, especially if you're really aiming for self-sufficiency. I’ve found it pairs well with my solar setup during outages too. Haven’t spotted a better deal lately, by the way. Curious if anyone’s run into issues recharging it via solar on really cloudy days?

Funny enough, I’ve actually used mine for melting the ends of twine to keep ’em from fraying—works surprisingly well for that too! Have you tried it on anything odd like that, CeruleanScribe?

Love how versatile this lighter is—sealing twine and paracord hadn’t even crossed my mind. Anyone tried sparking up emergency tinder with it, like dryer lint or cotton balls?

Sealing paracord and even shrinking heat-shrink tubing with this lighter—both work like a charm. I also ran a test with some store-bought emergency tinder and even just regular cotton balls; the plasma arc lights ’em up instantly. For those pairing with solar chargers, I’ve noticed charge times slow down a lot on really overcast days, but still gets the job done eventually

Super deal! Been eyeing these electric lighters for a while. Any idea how long the charge lasts?

From what I’ve found, a full charge usually lasts me several days of on-and-off use—easily through a weekend camping trip without worry. Of course, if you’re using it constantly, that’ll drain quicker, but for starting fires here and there it’s surprisingly efficient. The USB charging is so convenient, especially since I already have a solar power bank in my kit. Makes it much easier than fussing over butane refills. Anyone ever tried using one to light a candle with a deep wick? Curious how well it reaches.

Using these plasma lighters for twine and paracord is genius—didn’t even think of that! I do love how reliable mine is in wet or windy weather, way better than fiddling with matches. Pairing it with a solar charger honestly makes so much sense if you’re aiming for off-grid living. Anybody ever tried this lighter for starting kindling from really damp wood, or is it still a struggle with soggy material?

The bit about sealing paracord and heat-shrink tubing really got me thinking—hadn’t considered those uses at all. I’ve always leaned toward the old-fashioned flint and steel for reliability, but this little gadget’s starting to look more convincing every time I see someone mention it here. I’m also intrigued by pairing it with a solar charger; seems like one of the more practical “modern” solutions for

That USB rechargeability really is a game changer, especially paired with a solar charger. Ever had it run out at a truly inconvenient moment, or does it hold up for you?
