Making Moonshine: Distillation as a Survival Skill?

Dabbled in distilling homemade moonshine lately, mainly for the fun of it. Anyone else think this could double up as a decent survival skill? Thoughts on the practicality?

Can't say I'd toss the idea out, AquaFern1028. Distilling moonshine's a handy skill, especially if you consider it from a survivalist's perspective. Not only can you produce a potent alcohol that's consumable (in moderation, don't go wild folks!), but it also doubles as an effective antiseptic or fuel source in a pinch.

But remember, distillation requires a fair amount of resources - water, heat, and a substantial amount of time. So, it's more of a long-term survival plan rather than a quick fix. It might not be the first thing you'd want to focus on in a sudden crisis situation, but it certainly has its place in an extended off-the-grid living scenario.

On a side note, anyone tried using anything other than corn or fruit in their distillation process? I'm genuinely curious.
