That lanyard isn’t much to look at, but I appreciate the practicality—some of the fancy ones just tangle up or fray quicker. Had mine swinging off my tractor keychain and it’s survived more than a few bumpy rides, if that says anything about durability! I always recommend folks stash a whistle not just in their backpack, but also somewhere at home. During one of our ice storms years back, we had a neighbor take a spill in the basement and couldn’t yell loud enough for help (walls too thick). A whistle would’ve made all the difference.
As for the double tube, it really is a blessing if you’re out of breath or cold—takes almost no effort to get a decent blast. Haven’t needed it for a true rescue, thank goodness, but we use ours
