Optimal Length of Time for Stockpiling Non-Perishable Foods?

Been wondering about the ideal time frame for storing up non-perishable grub. Some say five years, others a whole decade or even more. Got my pantry filled to the brim but want to ensure it's gonna last if push comes to shove. What's your take on shelf life for canned goods, dehydrated food, grains,

Gotta consider both shelf life and rotation of your stockpile. Canned goods are typically good for 2-5 years, while dehydrated food can last up to 15 if stored correctly.
