Prepper Bingo: Mark Off Your Weirdest Stockpile Items!

Who else has a stockpile item that makes zero sense but you just can’t part with it? I’ll go first: three rolls of neon pink duct tape. No idea what emergency that’s for—blinding zombies maybe? Let’s play Prepper Bingo! What’s the wildest, weirdest, or downright useless thing in your stash? Bonus if you can think up a survival scenario for why you kept it!

There’s a plastic flamingo buried in the back of my storeroom and I swear I have no memory of how it got into my supplies. Maybe I thought a yard ornament could double as a scarecrow for mutant raccoons or serve up flamingo soup if I get desperate enough? My grandkids say I should stick googly eyes on it and use it as perimeter security—nobody messes with a crazy bird.

Also, there’s a jar labeled “emergency glitter.” I honestly can’t think of a crisis that needs glitter, but every time I organize, it just seems *wrong* to throw away emergency glitter. Maybe it’s for morale? Decorating the bunker walls? Distracting raiders who love sparkle? Who really knows

Old chess pieces made it into my stockpile for reasons I can’t recall—maybe I was planning to outwit marauding squirrels with a well-placed rook? Also have a stash of glow-in-the-dark marbles. In a pinch, I figure they could double as emergency nightlights or maybe as some kind of cryptic code for future archaeologists. Anyone else stockpiling things that only make sense at 2 a.m.?

Maybe it’s for morale?

Morale is underrated, honestly. In a pinch, neon pink duct tape could be exactly what keeps spirits up—imagine patching up gear or marking a trail and getting a good giggle out of it. BlueHarborTea, if we ever have to ration chocolate, I’m putting a few oddball items in the “for morale” pile too. My weirdest? A mini disco ball. If the world ends, we’re throwing a bunker dance party.
