Tried making a pedal-powered battery bank so I could practice sax out in the woods without lugging a generator. Long story short: my “brilliant” contraption ended up launching my water bottle straight into a tree, flinging the chain off, and nearly snapping my favorite reeds clean in half. I’m not even sure how the physics worked, but there was more jazz improvisation happening with those loose wires and cogs than in my last jam session.
Neighbors probably think I was building some sort of secret spaceship—especially after the battery sparked and I did my best duck-and-roll. Didn’t even get enough juice to power a flashlight, let alone my amp.
