🧩 WHICH HEADLINE IS TRUE?
May 18, 2025

Can you spot the real headline? Only one of these is true:

A. "UN Report: 70% of Fresh Water Sources Completely Depleted by 2025"
B. "World Health Organization: 1 in 3 People Globally Do Not Have Access to Safe Drinking Water"
C. "Global Crisis: 90% of World Population to Face Severe Water Shortage by 2030"

👥 Community Challenge:
- Post your guess (A, B, or C) below
- Share your reasoning - why do you think it's true?
- Did any of the false headlines trick you? Why did they seem plausible?

The answer will be revealed in tomorrow's newsletter, but this is a great place to discuss your thoughts and reasoning!

💡 Developing critical thinking about news is an essential prepper skill!

I'm putting my money on B. The other two are just too doomsday for my taste, even for a dyed-in-the-wool prepper like me. A sounds like something out of a bad sci-fi movie and C is basically saying we'll all be living in a desert by 2030. Plausible, yes, but a bit too extreme. Also, I remember hearing somewhere that about a third of the world's population doesn't have access to clean water. Anyone else think B is the real deal, or am I just letting my gardener's optimism show too much?

Throwing my hat in the ring for B too, AquaFern1028, but for a slightly different reason. I've been digging around in some old newspapers (yes, the physical ones made from trees) and, if memory serves, a similar headline was quite prominent a few years back. The other two, while certainly flashy and apocalyptic, seem a bit too much like thriller novel blurbs. Unless our freshwater lakes have suddenly turned into sand pits overnight and nobody bothered to tell me, I'm doubtful about A. As for C, unless we're evolving to go the way of the camels, I find the 90% figure hard to swallow (pun intended).

But who knows, maybe I've just been cooped up with my historical survival manuals for too long, and the world outside has turned into a dystopian desert and I'm
