🧩 WHICH HEADLINE IS TRUE?
May 22, 2026

Can you spot the real headline? Only one of these is true:

A. "FEMA Reports Show Only 20% of American Households are Equipped with Emergency Preparedness Kits"
B. "World Health Organization Declares Reading Fiction Novels as Essential Part of Disaster Preparedness"
C. "Majority of U.S. Schools Fail to Meet National Standards for Tornado Drills, According to National Weather Service"

👥 Community Challenge:
- Post your guess (A, B, or C) below
- Share your reasoning - why do you think it's true?
- Did any of the false headlines trick you? Why did they seem plausible?

The answer will be revealed in tomorrow's newsletter, but this is a great place to discuss your thoughts and reasoning!

It's gotta be A for me. As much as I'd *love* to see the WHO recommend curling up with a cozy mystery as disaster prep, that one feels a bit too close to wishful thinking (though if they start, I volunteer as tribute for the first book club). C almost got me, since I know schools can be hit or miss with safety drills, but I think they'd keep that info a bit more hush-hush or at least word it with more “we’re working on it” optimism.

Now, A just sounds depressingly believable. Most of my neighbors don't even keep a flashlight with fresh batteries, let alone a full kit. If the stat’s higher than 20%, I’ll eat my gardening hat.

Honestly, B is my dream world. Maybe they’d put herbal tea on the essentials list, too? What would y’all pick as your “essential” cozy novel for emergencies?

Seriously, if the WHO is handing out book club memberships as disaster prep, sign me up twice! But my guess is A—most folks can barely find a bandage, let alone a kit.
