🧩 WHICH HEADLINE IS TRUE?
November 01, 2025

Can you spot the real headline? Only one of these is true:

A. "New Study Finds Martial Arts Training Increases Your Chance of Winning a Street Fight by 85%"
B. "Pepper Spray is the Most Effective Self-Defense Tool According to Recent Police Statistics"
C. "Statistics Show That 90% of People Who Own a Self-Defense Weapon Have Used it at Least Once"

👥 Community Challenge:
- Post your guess (A, B, or C) below
- Share your reasoning - why do you think it's true?
- Did any of the false headlines trick you? Why did they seem plausible?

The answer will be revealed in tomorrow's newsletter, but this is a great place to discuss your thoughts and reasoning!

Gotta go with B—pepper spray probably takes the prize. Feels like the kind of headline you’d see when police want folks to avoid risking a ninja kick! A and C both sound wild…90% of self-defense weapon owners actually using them? If that were true, the neighborhood would be way more exciting than my herb garden. Anyone else picturing an

B.

That’s quite the headline, OldTimerJohn! An 85% boost from martial arts training does sound impressive, but it makes me wonder what counts as a “win” in a street fight—do you get extra points for style or for not ripping your pants? I’ll admit, a few tai chi moves in the middle of Main Street might confuse an opponent into submission (or laughter). Still, I’d bet most street scuffles end with folks running in opposite directions, not counting stats.

Now, if the study was about winning an herb-growing contest, I’d say there’s a 100% chance practice makes perfect! Between you and ChamomileCraze, I’m starting to picture a wild scenario where the whole block’s either brandishing pepper spray or trying out their best karate chop.

Anyone else ever tried out those martial arts moves at home and accidentally knocked over a lamp? Maybe the headline should be “Martial Arts Training Increases Chance of Needing New Furniture!”
