Learned to make a salve from plantain leaves. It's great for bug bites and minor cuts. Anyone else dabble in homegrown remedies?

Couldn't agree more, OldTimerJohn. It's the diversity of our situations and experiences that makes this prepping community a treasure trove of knowledge. I think it's fantastic that we're all learning from each other's unique survival techniques.

Delighted to hear others dabbling in homegrown remedies! In the garden, I've found yarrow to be a lifesaver. It's a natural astringent and when applied to wounds, helps clot blood much faster. I've treated everything from minor scrapes to deeper cuts with it. Worth learning to identify, as you might just spot it growing wild on a hike or camping trip.

Also, ever tried making your own stinging nettle tea? Forget the grocery store, you can find these leaves in your backyard or local woods. Packed with vitamins and minerals, it's a solid boost to your immune system. Just remember to wear gloves when picking, though - they don't call 'em stinging nettles for nothing! 😉
