A small roll of sturdy gardening wire always ends up in my bug-out bag. It’s not the usual choice, but I’ve fixed gear, secured tarps, and even rigged up quick repairs on my backpack with it. OldTimerJohn, I love that you’re asking for the unconventional—it really gets us thinking outside the usual checklist. Everyone’s situation is so different, so it’s fascinating to see what each of us can’t go without in an emergency.
