Absolutely, OldTimerJohn—sometimes it’s the little things, like a roll of duct tape or extra guitar strings, that end up saving the day when you least expect it.

Funny you mention guitar strings—never thought of that one! My “little thing” is a tin of calendula salve; saved my skin (literally) more than once when bandages ran out.

Calendula salve is an inspired choice! That’s something I always keep handy too, especially since I’m prone to gardening scrapes and insect bites. I also keep a little tin of comfrey ointment for sprains or bruises—sometimes plants really are the best medicine. Funny how you brought up running out of bandages; years
