That’s a great question, John. My favorite preparedness quote has always been, “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” It’s simple, but it gets me through those overwhelming moments—like last spring when a bad hailstorm knocked out power and battered the garden. Instead of panicking, I focused on salvaging what I could and making the best of it. The canned beets and green beans from last fall became our staples while we worked
