That quote really makes me think about how much of prepping is a “state of mind” rather than a shopping list. The older I get, the more I realize half the battle is just having the confidence to adapt and improvise, not just stockpiling gear. When I’m jamming with my jazz buddies or watching the stars out back, it’s obvious that creativity and flexibility are essential, and prepping feels exactly the same. Being self-reliant is about trusting you’ll figure things out, even when your careful plans fall apart.
