Tragic Shooting in Brooklyn Lounge Leaves 3 Dead, 12 Wounded

In a horrific incident that has rocked New York City, a late-night shooting at a popular lounge in Brooklyn resulted in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to nine more. The event occurred early Sunday morning and has prompted an urgent response from city officials.

City Mayor expressed his deep concern during a press briefing, stating, "We are sadly having to activate our mass shooting plan."

Emergency Call Triggers Swift Police Response

The violence erupted just before the break of dawn inside a bustling lounge located in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The local emergency services were flooded with 911 calls, prompting a rapid response from officers on duty.

Arriving at Franklin Avenue, law enforcement found a chilling scene. Twelve individuals, nine men and three women aged between 19 and 61, had been shot. Among them, three men did not survive. A 19-year-old was declared dead on the scene while two others aged 27 and 35 later succumbed to their critical injuries at the hospital.

The remaining victims are currently receiving medical attention for their non-life-threatening injuries at nearby hospitals.

Investigation Underway to Uncover Details

According to the city's Police Commissioner, the shooting incident seems to have stemmed from a dispute within the crowded lounge involving multiple shooters, as many as four. "Our crime scene investigators have now recovered 42 shell casings from multiple guns. The shell casings appear to be from 9 mm and 45 caliber weapons," the Commissioner explained, suggesting that the incident could be gang-related.

It was also pointed out that almost 60% of shootings in New York City are gang-related. A firearm was subsequently found near Bedford Avenue and Eastern Parkway, but it is yet to be determined if it was used in the shooting.

Appeal for Public Cooperation

The Mayor urged anyone with information to come forward, saying, "If you were inside the club, if you heard individuals talking about shooting, if you witnessed someone fleeing the location, every piece of information would allow us to put the puzzle together to solve this crime." The Mayor stressed that such gun violence deeply impacts communities and the city at large, and vowed to continue efforts to rid the streets of illegal guns.

Local Pastor Gilford Monrose expressed his condolences, saying, "Our prayers and our condolences go out to the family and friends of those who have lost their lives, and we are praying for a speedy recovery for those in the hospital."

It's worth noting that this is not the first shooting incident at this lounge. A non-fatal shooting occurred at the same location in November 2024.

As of now, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Just heartbreaking, and it keeps happening—how many more families have to suffer before something finally changes? Does anyone know if there was security at the door that night?
