Oil and Logistics Facilities in Russia Attacked by Ukrainian Drones
Earlier on a recent Saturday morning, a string of drone attacks were aimed at major facilities in Russia. The targets were fuel and logistics infrastructures, which led to the ignition of an oil depot in the Moscow area and two logistics compounds.
Logistics Centers Under Siege
In the Tambov area, it was reported that a drone strike initiated a blaze at a logistics complex situated in the Kotovsk Industrial Park. This complex, which began functioning in 2025, was part of a well-known marketplace.
Local officials in the Tambov area stated that the strike in Kotovsk resulted in the unfortunate loss of seven employees from the marketplace. Another warehouse, located in Elektrostal, approximately 50 kilometers from Moscow, was also engulfed in flames. This facility is known to be the second largest in the company in terms of order processing volume. The fire was later confirmed through open-source data by analysts.
Oil Depot in Moscow Region Hit
Additionally, in the Moscow area, a drone attack instigated a fire at the Noginsk oil depot. Video clips shared by onlookers on the morning of the attack confirmed the occurrence of explosions and the subsequent fire at this facility.
The Noginsk depot is an independently operating fuel market operator, handling the storage and transfer of light petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, and kerosene. This depot consists of 24 tanks with a total capacity of 11,500 cubic meters. It serves as a central hub for traders and fuel companies in the Moscow area, with its infrastructure used by fuel suppliers for the storage and shipment of their products.
Simultaneous Strikes on Occupied Crimea
Around the same time, multiple explosions were reported across various areas of Russian-occupied Crimea. Over 20 explosions were detected near the Gvardeyskoye military airfield, as well as blasts in Sevastopol, Feodosia, and Kerch. There were indications that the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant may have been targeted. Video footage displayed Russian mobile fire groups attempting to shoot down incoming drones.
The Gvardeyskoye airfield had been previously targeted as part of operations against military facilities in Crimea.
Continued Campaign Against Russian Fuel Infrastructure
These events are the latest in a series of strikes that occurred earlier in the week, which targeted Russia's domestic fuel production. Ukrainian forces struck a complex in the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Oil Refinery in Krasnodar Krai.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed these strikes, stating that they were aimed at facilities that produce fuel and lubricants used to support the Russian military and economy. It was reported that the Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have intercepted 288 Ukrainian drones across various regions.
