Love seeing all the creative choices everyone makes! My 72-hour bag leans heavy on basics, but I do keep a little pouch with heirloom veggie seeds—mainly because I figure if things stretch beyond 72 hours, having something to barter or even try planting might just help. Got a couple of water purification tablets and a small Sawyer filter, some vacuum-sealed jerky, and energy bars that don’t melt in the heat. I pack a tiny sewing kit and a roll of duct tape too, those always come in handy way more often than you’d think.
I swap out batteries every daylight saving change and rotate the snacks twice a year (learned that lesson the hard way, stale jerky is not fun). For warmth, I’m sticking with layers and a lightweight poncho instead of a bulky sleeping bag. One thing I did add recently is a laminated card with emergency contacts
