What’s In Your Current 72-Hour Emergency Kit?

Curious what others are packing these days in their 72-hour kits. I’ve updated mine with a compact water filter, waxed canvas tarp, and some high-calorie rations. Anybody have newer gear or swaps that turned out more useful than the standards? Always looking to refine the essentials.

Swapped from canned tuna to vacuum-sealed smoked salmon for protein, mostly because the cans took up too much space and the salmon's lighter. Tossed in a little hand-crank radio too—tested it last week and actually picked up the weather station no problem. Those foldable solar lanterns (the kind that squish flat) take up barely any room and make a big difference. Anyone else include a tiny sewing kit or is that just my librarian habits showing?

Herbal remedies make such a difference—totally agree, it’s all about those little comforts and fixes that don’t take up much space. I tuck a tiny tin of calendula salve into my kit, and it’s been a lifesaver for scrapes, burns, or

Peppermint oil goes in mine—works for headaches, nausea, and stuffy noses. Has anyone tried adding reusable heat packs? Wondering if they're worth the space.
