What’s in Your Everyday Carry Survival Kit?

Curious what folks here keep in their EDC survival kits. I’ve noticed mine has changed over the years—right now it’s pretty streamlined: small fixed blade, mini first aid, water purification tabs, ferro rod, and a tiny flashlight. Sometimes I swap in a multitool or some cordage, depending on where I’m headed. Do you prioritize compactness or versatility? Any “must-have” items you think most people overlook?

That’s a solid lineup—do you ever wish you had a bit of cordage or tape in there, or has your pared-down kit covered all your needs so far?

I like your streamlined setup—do you find the mini first aid is enough for most scrapes and bumps, or have you ever wished you had a bit more on hand? That tiny flashlight is a lifesaver at dusk, for sure.

Really like seeing what others keep in their kits—funny how everyone’s priorities shift. For me, compactness is key but I always squeeze in some sturdy medical tape and a few butterfly closures, since cuts happen more than you'd think. A whistle gets tossed in too; tiny but can make a big difference. Anyone else carry simple meds, like ibuprofen, or just stick to the basics?

Streamlining makes sense, especially when you’ve learned what you actually reach for! That mini first aid and water tabs combo covers a lot of ground, but I’m with you—swapping in cordage or a multitool depending on the day just feels smart. I always like to tuck in a few safety pins and a sewing needle too, since they weigh nothing but come in handy. Have you found yourself missing anything after a day out, or has your current setup handled everything so far?

For most everyday mishaps, my little first aid pouch is enough—bandages, some antiseptic wipes, and a bit of gauze. But if I’m headed anywhere remote, I’ll add a few herbal salves and larger dressings, just in case. BlueMarigold, I’ve been caught short once with a deep cut, so now I tuck in a couple of
