Curious what essentials everyone’s carrying these days. I did a full overhaul of my go-bag last week, swapping out the heavier stove for a small Esbit and adding a few more shelf-stable snacks. Still got the basics—first aid (with extra wound dressings), water filter, and a small radio w/ extra batteries. I also keep copies of important docs

Swapping out to a lighter stove makes a ton of sense—weight creeps up fast. I keep a compact VHF/UHF handheld (Baofeng UV-5R), charged power bank, plus laminated frequency lists and local repeater info in mine. Still got the basics like water filter and quick snacks, but I’m always fiddling with comms gear. How do you guys handle keeping batteries from draining in long-term storage?
