Wish I’d started a rainwater catchment system years ago—took way too long to realize how tricky water access can get. What’s one prep you regret not starting sooner, and did it end up costing you when things got tough?

Biggest regret for me was not getting into backup power sooner. When the grid went down a couple years back, I realized how much I depended on being able to charge radios and keep tabs on local updates. Ended up scrambling for battery packs and solar chargers after the fact. Curious, did anyone here test their water catchment setup before needing it for real?
