Whats One Prep You Wish Youd Started Sooner?

Wish I'd started a proper rainwater catchment system years ago. The learning curve was steeper than I expected, especially with filtration and storage. It would've saved me a lot of hassle (and money) during droughts. Curious what other folks regret not prepping sooner—was it food preservation, alternative power, medical supplies? Any advice for late starters trying to play catch-up?
 
Wish I’d paid more attention to herbal medicine and foraging. Thought I had enough medical supplies stashed, but actually knowing which plants around me can help with pain or infection would be a game changer. Tried to cram a bunch of info lately but it’s not as easy to learn under pressure. Anyone else find a good way to practice those skills without feeling overwhelmed?
 
Really regret not starting a composting system and actual garden sooner. Always thought I could just pick it up when I had more free time, but wow, soil health and learning what actually grows well in my area takes years. During the last big storm, the shelves emptied out way faster than I ever expected, and it hit me how much I relied on the system just working. If I’d started a bit earlier, I’d be producing so much more of my own food by now.
