What’s One Skill Every Prepper Should Master First?

If you had to pick only one foundational skill to really drill down on as a prepper, what would it be? For me, it’s water procurement and purification—no contest. Without clean water, nothing else matters for long. I’m curious if others agree, or maybe some of you put more emphasis on something like firemaking or medical basics. What do you think deserves top priority when starting out, and why?

Really hard to argue with water first—humans don’t last long without it, and it’s not always as easy to find or clean as folks think. But I’d put basic first aid right up there too. Even a tiny injury can spiral if you don’t know how to treat it. Anyone else ever run into trouble finding reliable, hands-on first aid training these days?
