What’s the Most Overlooked Item in Your Bug Out Bag?

Duct tape, hands down. It fixes just about anything, but I hardly see folks mention it! Anybody else carry a tiny deck of cards for downtime?

Backup water filter or purification tabs—so easy to forget, but nothing matters if you can’t drink the water you’ve got. Anyone have a favorite brand or method?

Wondering what folks think is the most commonly overlooked item in a bug out bag. For me, it’s always some kind of simple sewing kit—people forget repairs. What’s one thing you always pack that others might skip?

That sewing kit is spot on—tiny and a real lifesaver when gear starts falling apart. I always toss in a small magnifying glass, not just for reading tiny print or starting a fire, but also for spotting details on maps or nature trails (old librarian habits die hard). Funny how easy it is to overlook something so small but versatile. Do you have a favorite type of needle or thread you pack, BlueMarigold? I’m always on the lookout for sturdy options that don’t take up much space.
