What’s the Most Overlooked Prep in Your Opinion?

Seems like everyone talks about water, food, and security, but I rarely see much about mental health and stress management in prepping circles. If things really go sideways, your mindset can make or break your ability to keep going. Does anyone here have strategies or “calm kits” packed? I’m curious what folks do to stay mentally resilient, especially over long stretches.

Absolutely agree, mental health is so often pushed aside in prepping discussions. I keep a small pouch with things to distract and comfort—playing cards, a crossword book, hard candy, and pictures of my grandkids. Simple routines like journaling each day help me keep my wits about me, especially in prolonged stressful situations. It’s amazing how the smallest bit of normalcy can keep your spirits from slipping. Curious what others include in their “calm kits”—has anyone found something unexpected
