Personally, I think basic hand tools often get sidelined—nothing fancy, just reliable things like a hand saw or a sturdy shovel. Imagine trying to fix a fence or dig a latrine without ‘em. Something that gets missed a lot is proper sanitation beyond just toilet paper. I mean things like a good supply of soap, a sturdy wash basin, and a big stack of old towels or rags. Been through enough power outages to know keeping yourself and your clothes clean becomes a real challenge fast, and it can get downright miserable if you’re not prepared for it. Hand sanitizer’s fine for a bit, but nothing beats actual soap and water if you wanna stay healthy.
