Bartering has always struck me as one of the cornerstones of real preparedness, especially once normal supply chains break down. I keep a stash of medical supplies—bandages, antiseptic creams, splints, basic OTC meds—since there’s always someone who’ll need first aid and won’t have it. They’re compact, easy to trade, and don’t go bad quickly if stored right.
