If you had to grab just one item in a sudden crisis, what would it be? For me, it’s always my old fixed-blade Mora. Curious to hear what others rate as indispensable when time’s short and you don’t know what’s coming.

Water filter every time. Can’t do much without safe water, and they’re light enough to toss in a purse or pouch. I keep a Sawyer Mini clipped right by the back door for just in case moments—it’s saved my back more than once on long hikes too. Do most folks here keep theirs handy, or stash it somewhere more out of the way?
