The very first thing I grab is my old-fashioned oil lamp. Batteries have failed me too many times (especially when I forget to check them), but that lamp never lets me down and throws off a surprising amount of warm light. I keep it on a shelf in the pantry with matches right beside it so it’s easy to get to even if it’s pitch dark
