What’s Your Go-To Skill for Off-Grid Survival?

When it comes to off-grid survival, I keep circling back to practical skills over gear. For me, gardening and basic foraging have become essential—knowing what plants are edible, how to cultivate food from seeds saved year-to-year, and maintaining soil health even with limited resources. I’ve read a lot about wild plant identification and old methods for preserving a harvest without electricity, but hands-on experience is another beast entirely.

I’m trying to expand my skillset now, especially in areas like water purification without modern filters or chemical tabs—maybe learning more about solar stills or sand filtration setups. Shelter-building is on my list, too, particularly for long-term rather than short-term scenarios.
