What’s Your Go-To Skill for Total Grid Failure?

If the grid completely goes down for months, the skill I’m leaning on most is foraging and wild plant ID. Been working on recognizing edible weeds and roots native to my region—seems like a critical backup when supplies run thin. Curious what practical skills others are focusing on for this scenario. Is it water filtration, bartering, off-grid power, or maybe animal husbandry? Would be good to hear what ranks highest in your plans and if you have pointers for refining those skill

Water filtration is my top priority in a grid-down scenario. You can go a lot longer without food than you can without safe water, and contamination risks get high fast if the taps stop. Have a few layers—filters, boiling, even old-school solar stills. That said, I’ve been working on simple herbal remedies too, since medicine will run out quick. Anyone else here tried making tinctures or stored herbal supplies?
