When it comes to living completely off-grid, I always fall back on my ability to grow and preserve food. I've tried to get proficient in a lot of things over the years, but knowing how to produce, harvest, and safely store my own food gives me a bit of peace of mind. Between canning

Staying connected is at the top of my list—radio skills let me get info and reach out when everything else goes dark. I’ve got backup power, antennas, and a couple bands I trust, so I’m never totally in the dark, literally or figuratively. Growing food is vital, but if you can’t signal for help or find out what’s happening beyond your land, it gets risky quick. Anyone else here run practice drills with their radios?
