What’s Your Most Overlooked Prep Item?
Started thinking about the items that often get overlooked in most bug out or get home bags. Everyone remembers the basics—water filters, first aid, fire starters—but what about those less obvious things that could make a real difference? For example, I realized I didn't have a sturdy pair of reading glasses in any of my kits. If my main pair breaks or gets lost, I'm basically handicapped for any close-up work, map reading, or even tending to wounds.
I’d also say spare shoelaces, which can double as cordage, and a manual can opener (not the one attached to your multitool, they break). Small things like a sewing kit or a pack of heavy-duty garbage bags are cheap and versatile, but I rarely see them on prep lists.
