So many folks focus on food, water, and first aid, but I rarely see anyone talk about spare eyeglasses or reading glasses in their kits. Can’t read directions or check your gear if you can’t see! Curious what other “small” essentials people tend to forget?

Batteries—never enough, and they always seem to run out at the worst possible time. I also stash extra meds in my kit, especially basic pain relievers and allergy stuff. Chapstick is another little thing I’ve seen people forget, but cracked lips can be miserable if you’re outside a lot. Has anyone actually had to dig into their “forgotten” items during an emergency?
