A lot of us focus on the big stuff—water, food, first aid—but I always wonder which smaller items tend to get forgotten. For me, extra eyeglasses and repair kits often slip my mind, even though I can’t go far without them. Has anyone else realized they’re missing something critical only after doing a thorough gear check? I’d really like to hear what overlooked items you’ve started including in your preps lately.

Battery-powered clocks always seem to get overlooked in my stash. When the power goes out, it's surprising how quickly you lose track of time without all the digital stuff working. I keep a little wind-up one in the kitchen now. Ever notice how hard it is to find out exactly how long the outage has lasted if your phone's dead?
