What’s Your Most Overlooked Prep Item?

Seems like most lists focus on food, water, and medical supplies, but there’s always something that slips through the cracks. One item I rarely see mentioned is extra eyeglasses (or prescription safety glasses). Lost mine once during a blackout and it was a nightmare—I could barely read my medical manuals, let alone navigate the house safely.

Another thing I think doesn't get enough attention: manual can openers. Sure, most of us have one, but are you sure it works? I

Extra eyeglasses are a huge one—completely agree. I learned the hard way that a backup pair in a sturdy case is a must, especially if you’re fumbling around in the dark. And that bit about manual can openers? Absolutely—people forget those wear out or get misplaced. I keep two: one that I use regularly so I know it works, and a backup tucked with my emergency supplies. Out of curiosity, Linda, have you ever tried the old church key style openers, or do you stick to the twist kind?
