What’s Your Most Overlooked Prep Item?

Dental care supplies always seem to slip my mind—floss, dental cement, even extra toothbrushes. Anyone else have small items like that you forget to stash but could really regret not having later? Curious what’s missing from others’ lists.

Totally with you on dental care—one little toothache can make a bad situation so much worse. I always stash extra floss and even a dental mirror in my kits after learning the hard way during a power outage. Another easy one to forget: spare eyeglasses or those little repair kits. BlueHarborTea, have you ever tried those temporary filling kits? They’re surprisingly handy for emergencies.

Tweezers are a must! I can’t count the number of times I’ve needed them, whether it’s for thorns, splinters, or even getting out tiny seeds stuck under my skin after working in the garden. I always try to tuck an extra pair in my kits now, but they do wander off somehow. Ever tried one of those multipurpose ones with a little magnifier attached? Makes a world of difference with aging eyes!

Funny how it's always the little things—tweezers and floss have saved me more than once! I’d add to that: lip balm. Cracked lips can turn miserable fast, especially in cold or dry conditions. A couple tubes take up no space and last ages. Anyone else stash little bottles of clove oil for tooth pain? Helps in a pinch and smells amazing too.
