What’s Your Top “Must Have” Item for Bugging Out?

If you had to pick just one item for your bug out bag, what would it be? I keep wavering between my multi-tool and a quality water filter. Both have saved my bacon more than once, but I can’t decide which is the bigger “must have” when space and weight are tight. Curious what others rely on—the one thing you absolutely won’t leave behind, even if it means ditching something else.

Gotta say, for me it’s a compact solar charger. I’m all about keeping my radio, flashlight, and even my little keyboard charged up when there’s no grid. Tools and filters are huge, but no power means no tunes—or emergency comms, for that matter. Anyone else lean heavy into renewables for their go-to item, or am I just the odd one?
