Whats Your Top Priority When Disaster Hits?

First thing I do when disaster hits is assess immediate safety—secure shelter and make sure I’ve got water that’s clean and accessible. Food comes right after, but water is always my non-negotiable. I rely a lot on herbal tinctures and remedies for minor injuries or illness in those first chaotic hours. What’s the first thing you focus on: shelter, water, security, or something else? Curious to hear if anyone puts comms or neighborhood check-ins as top priority too.

Water is top of my list too, but I also take a minute to check on my neighbors, especially the older folks nearby. Once I know everyone's accounted for, I focus on getting my emergency radio and lights out, just in case I lose power. Food and first aid are important, but I feel better knowing my little community’s looked after. Anybody else prioritize checking on others right away?
