What’s Your Top Priority When Disaster Strikes?

When disaster hits, I always go straight for water and med supplies first. Curious if others prioritize differently—do you grab comms gear, food, or something else right off the bat? Always wondering if my order makes the most sense.

Definitely water first, but I tend to grab my solar lantern and extra batteries right after—darkness always comes faster than you think. Does anyone else worry about light as much as I do?

Light is underrated in emergencies, honestly. Once the sun goes down, even basic tasks turn tricky without it, and panic sets in quick if you can’t see what you’re doing. I keep a hand-crank lantern right by the door just for that reason, along with my water stash. Anyone got tips on securing light sources that don’t burn through batteries so fast?

First thing I go for is my big water jug, then I grab my crank radio-light combo. Agree 100%—the dark can get scary fast, especially if power’s out and you’re fumbling around. I also keep a stash of beeswax candles
