That Buddy sounds like a handful, in the best possible way! I love when animals take initiative—my old cat used to drag the garden gloves over whenever I'd head outside, as if she was ready to help weed. It's amazing how much joy they add, even with small things like that. Anyone else have a pet

Buddy fetching his own leash cracked me up—what a clever little guy! Animals really do have this way of tuning right in to what we need, sometimes even before we realize it ourselves. My old lab, Duke, used to bring me my harmonica case when I’d start playing piano—guess he knew it was jam session time. Nothing like seeing a big golden with a harmonica case in his mouth, tail thumping like a drum.

There’s something about having pets around that just makes the daily grind a little brighter. Even on the nights I’m out late with the telescope, my cat Luna will curl up by my feet and watch the sky with me. I like to think she
