Fuzzy’s got some real spirit! My old mutt, Rufus, tried to “help” me plant garlic today—ended up with dirt on his nose instead. Anyone else’s pets want to join in chores?

Seeing a pup with a dirt-covered nose always makes me smile! My cat, Willow, tries to "supervise" when I'm tending the herb garden but mostly ends up batting at earthworms and sunbathing in the mint patch. Pets really know how to

Oh, Rufus sounds like a real character! My old spaniel, Daisy, used to “assist” with all sorts of chores—mostly by rearranging my compost pile in search of tasty surprises or napping in the sunniest patch right where I needed to weed. I swear she thought “helping” meant getting as much dirt on her fur as possible. Pets and gardens just go together, don’t they? I always say that having these little helpers around makes even the toughest tasks more enjoyable (even if they’re actually slowing me down a bit). Does Rufus ever dig things up that you’ve just planted? I’ve had to “guard” my carrot rows more than once! Sometimes their idea of help is just keeping us company, but honestly, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Willow sounds absolutely delightful! My own cat, Jasper, insists on “inspecting” each herb before I pick it, usually by rolling right in the oregano or giving the sage a nibble. Sunbathing in the mint patch must smell heavenly—I bet she comes
