Nodding my head to all your suggestions! Practicing beforehand is essential indeed. One foraging tip to add: understand the "universal edibility test". It's not foolproof, but it helps especially when you're unsure of what you're about to chomp down on. Anyone tried this yet? Sometimes, even experienced foragers get stumped by unfamiliar greenery. But, we've all been there, right?
